Objectives and topics

Recently, as an important part of industries 4.0 and 5.0, the concept of digital and smart manufacturing has emerged, presenting new production systems completely interconnected from the inside world to the outside world, consisting of strong integration between information flows and production decision processes. In this context, it becomes possible to develop new intelligent decision tools based on a better consideration of specificities of the production systems, such as: the optimization of productivity, the design of more flexible and more reactive production lines, reducing waste, the prevention of errors and delays, enhanced logistics and inventory management. This allows processing the main challenges associated with industry 4.0 technology- centric and industry 5.0 technology/human-centric. The OAPSI 2022 Special Session at the 14thInternational Conference on Computational Collective Intelligence (ICCCI 2022) is devoted to present recent optimization approaches of production systems in the context of industries 4.0 and 5.0 involving several key enabling technologies, i.e. Big Data analytics, Autonomous robots, Simulation, Cyber-Physical Systems, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Manufacturing, etc.

Scientists, engineers and decision makers from government, industry and academia are invited to contribute with theoretical and applied research papers. The aim of the OAPSI 2022 session is to attract high-quality papers in these areas including topics (but not limited) such as:
  • Applications of Industry 4.0 and industry 5.0
  • Digital and smart manufacturing (smart factory, smart product, etc.)
  • Cloud manufacturing
  • Production planning and Scheduling
  • Logistics and Supply chain management
  • Transportation
  • Inventory management
